The choice of OMR scanner depends totally on the volume of sheets to be scanned.
Low End scanners with a speed
of 10-15 ppm cost around Rs.7000 to Rs.20,000.
For a scan rate of 20-30 ppm, the scanners are available in the
range of Rs. 25,000 - Rs. 35,000.
The High End scanners with scanning speed more than 40ppm may cost
Rs. 45,000 upto Rs. 2 lacs.
QwizPad Software supports any model of Image Scanner- Flatbed or ADF scanner.
These Scanners are
multipurpose and can be used for purposes other than just OMR sheet scanning.
As the number of OMR sheets to be scanned is normally high, an ADF scanner is recommended for
better
performance and quicker output. ADF or Automatic Document Feeder is a feature which takes
several pages
and feeds the paper one page at a time into a scanner, allowing the user to scan multiple-page documents
without having to manually replace each page.
Scanning & Checking are two independent operations; scanning can be held on multiple computers increasing
the processing speed. Scanning can be performed in mass scan mode. A normal A4 OMR Sheet of 200 dpi with
100 MCQs can be scanned in 1 sec.
Scanned images can be of BMP / JPG type. We use jpg image since its size is smaller and hence less storage space is utilized.
QwizPad OMR Software can flip the Inverted scanned OMR sheet images to make them straight. The inclined images are checked without any error.
Barcodes can be captured in QwizPad OMR. It is also capable of cropping photographs and signatures from a document.
QwizPad OMR Solution allows you to keep a digitized copy of both the scanned & checked sheets and these may even be uploaded on the Institute website.
